VIC: Man killed in frenzied attack, say police
MELBOURNE, Dec 10 AAP - An elderly man, whose decomposing body was found on a rural
property south-west of Melbourne, was killed in a frenzied attack by someone with a lot of
hatred, police said today.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Reid said police had identified the man as Wiedo Budzynski,
64, of Buckley School Road, Winchelsea.
"The manner of the death and the attack, its obvious somebody would appear to have some
sort of hatred of him," he told reporters at the Victoria Police Centre.
"It doesnt tend to suggest a random situation."
The mans body was discovered in his kitchen by a neighbour yesterday but police believe he
may have been dead for up to 10 days before being discovered.
Det Chief Insp Reid said an autopsy showed the man died of head injuries.
He said the man lived alone and police who examined the scene believe a frenzied attack
took place.
Meanwhile, police announced a breakthrough in an investigation into the murder of Mustapha
El Ahmad, 31, whose body was found in bush off the Princes Highway, south-east of Melbourne,
on July 4.
Police now know Mr El Ahmad got into a 1998 Holden Commodore sedan in Park Street, Preston,
on the day they believe he was killed.
At least two other people were in the car and it was sighted in Melbournes eastern suburbs
at Forest Hill.
Police wish to hear from anyone who may have seen the 1998 Commodore registration number
OTK-306 or its occupants on June 20 in either Preston, Forest Hill, Mulgrave or Drouin.
