Vic: Convicted police killers in court before sentencing
Convicted police killers BENDALI DEBS and JASON ROBERTS will appear in court in Melbournetoday to plead their case before sentencing.
49-year-old DEBS, of Narre Warren, and 22-year-old ROBERTS, of Cranbourne, could facelife imprisonment after a Supreme Court jury found them guilty of the murders of SergeantGARY SILK and Senior-Constable RODNEY MILLER in December last year.
The jury deliberated for more than five days before convicting the pair of killingthe officers during a shoot-out in Moorabbin on August 16, 1998.
Relatives of the police officers will also be heard -- through victim impact statements-- during the plea hearing.
