Zkey.com announced several new upper management additions.
Joining the staff is Julie Carson as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Carson is responsible for devising and implementing Zkey's marketing strategy, corporate positioning, and program activities. She is also managing and leading the marketing efforts, raising the level of success among the current marketing plans and communication strategies.
In the Business Development sector of her position, Carson is developing and managing all strategic alliances and business development initiatives. She will forge creative deals with leading Internet sites, distribution partners, portals, and strategic companies both online and off-line. Carson received her B.A. with honors from Harvard University, majoring in Economics.
Prior to Zkey, Carson worked as President of GMBID.com. There she successfully launched the start-up online luxury auction site, leading both the marketing and business development efforts. Carson also worked for DreamWorks Interactive as Head of Business Development and Finance. In this role, she maintained the oversight for long-term strategic focus in all areas of the company. She managed all online efforts, international localization and international business relations.
Also joining the staff is David Lee as Vice President of Operations. Lee is responsible for establishing, managing, and leading Zkey's structural organization including programming, engineering, business development, planning, sales and marketing, and customer service. He will be instrumental in taking Zkey to a pre-eminent global leader in information exchange.
Lee received his Bachelor of Arts in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to joining the Zkey team, Lee has been developing and managing Web strategies for more than 4 years and has more than 8 years of experience in product development under his belt.
Lee's experience includes founder and visionary for ePerson.com, where he provided guidance to all aspects pertaining to software development and product management. His experience also includes serving as VP, Technical Support and Services for NetManage. In that role, Lee was involved in the day to day marketing and sales strategy to develop new business.
Lee's experience in the rapid Internet field and extensive knowledge in the technical sector indicates his strong ability to get his hands around projects and see them through to completion.
Jeffrey Pomerance joins Zkey.com as Vice President of Legal Affairs. Pomerance is responsible for all of the legal activities and related issues for Zkey. He will oversee the legal department, risk management program, and policy group. Ultimately, Pomerance will be responsible for interactions with content owners, regulators, law enforcement, contracts, and other legal matters.
Pomerance holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan School of Law, and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (Accounting) from the University of Wisconsin Madison. He also successfully completed the Certified Public Accountancy Examination as well as the Illinois and California Bar Examinations.
Prior to joining the Zkey team, Pomerance was a Principal and General Counsel in Genesis Capital, a financial advisory firm that focuses on start-up and emerging market companies. He was also a Senior Associate Attorney for Foley and Lardner, focusing on healthcare merger and acquisition, and corporate information system transactions.
Nicholas Pei joins Zkey.com as Vice President of Strategy. Pei received his MBA from the Haas Business School at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Zkey.com, Pei was the Program Director, Mobile Brand Strategy at IBM where he set the strategy for the $5 billion mobile organization composed of ThinkPad notebook computers and WorkPad handheld access devices.
Pei also developed Internet strategy for IBM Mobile Organization to extend the ThinkPad brand equity into the virtual world. He was involved in strategic partnership alliances with various portal and e-commerce companies. At IBM, he was selected as one of the Top 200 Marketing Managing Leaders for e-business.
Prior to working at IBM, Pei worked at NEC and COMPAQ in various product marketing and product management positions. At NEC, he led product development efforts that resulted in the first-to-market breakthrough of notebook computer platforms.
Jennifer Moss re-joins the Zkey.com staff as Vice President of Product Planning. Moss specializes in Internet business product development and strategy. After graduating from Northwestern University in 1985, Moss began her technology career by launching a systems consulting firm in Chicago providing database application architecture and programming for corporate and retail businesses.
After moving to Los Angeles, Moss served in Information Technology Management for several international law firms, including Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Fulbright & Jaworski. In 1996, Moss founded BabyNames.com, which has since been heralded as one of the top parenting sites on the Internet. She pursued her Internet career by consulting for many successful sites, including eToys.com, Korn/Ferry's Futurestep.com, and by serving as Executive Vice President and Director of Development for Zkey.com.
Moss' work on Zkey.com helped garner it the PC Magazine's Editor's Choice Award, and inclusion in the top 100 sites of 1999. She has also had articles featured in Red Herring and Working Woman magazines.
In addition to new staff members, Betty Baker was promoted from Director of Human Resources to Vice President of Human Resources. Before joining Zkey.com, Baker worked for GartnerGroup. There she built a viable infrastructure for their rapidly growing multi-million dollar consulting division, replacing a laissez-faire staff environment with a high-performance, cohesive team.
Other accomplishments include establishing and implementing human resource policies/procedures to attain full regulatory compliance for staffing services as well as conducting training classes in time-management and HR practices. Baker has a B.A. in Behavioral Science and a Masters in Human Behavior.
